How to Obtain a Handicap

Some members who join The Shropshire will be happy to play social golf with friends and will not need a handicap. However, if you wish to play in any club competitions you will need a recognised World Handicap System (WHS) handicap index. Golfers joining from other clubs should be able to transfer their handicap; please quote your CDH number and contact the handicap secretary. If you want further details about WHS please contact your section’s Handicap Secretary.

To obtain your first handicap you will need to play the equivalent of three 18-hole rounds with a club member who already has a handicap. Once you have completed these rounds and filled in the cards with all the relevant details, including names, tees used and signatures you can mark them ‘for initial handicap’ and submit them.

How to Enter a Competition

The HowDidiDo website allows you to see your playing record, enter competitions, submit scores, see the results and look up current member handicaps.

Once you are a member and have a handicap or have submitted cards for a handicap you will be put on the handicap database.  This will then give you access to HowDidiDo and allow you to access its various facilities.
